Beginnings

Hello and welcome to my new website. Please be patient with me as I begin to build this site - I'm pretty new to this type of thing, but I wanted some place to show and possibly sell my handmade crochet items.

A little about me - I'm a wife and mother of a beautiful grown daughter who has blessed me with 2 adorable grandchildren who live too far away from me now that we have moved to SW Florida (our retirement community) although I'm not retired just yet, my hubby is. When I'm not working or spending time at the pool, I'm crocheting. Crocheting relaxes me and has become my passion.

My crochet experience started many years ago (at least 50 years ago) when, my great grandmother taught me to crochet. I've taken several breaks from crocheting, as life was just too busy. I started it back up in 2017 when my daughter got married and I anxiously waited for grandbabies. I started making baby blankets in different colors and fell in love with the process again. Now with Youtube's video tutorials, I started making other items that I never knew I could make. By the time my first grandchild came along I had LOTS of baby blankets, hats, scarfs and boot cuffs left after gifting many of them. I decided to open my Etsy shop - HandmadegiftsbyDawn

I'll be sharing my items on this blog with links to my Etsy shop, but for those of you who don't have Etsy but want to make a purchase of either a custom order or something I already have in stock, I can provide payment methods via message or text.
